The project supports those who are farmers, farm-workers or retired from farming to stay living at home safely and independently and to tackle loneliness and isolation.
Mamwlad Caseworkers take time to talk to you about your home and give advice on options to adapt, repair and maintain your home, whether owned or rented. They will offer a free Healthy Home Assessment helping you to manage better and stay safe, warm and secure.
John, from Berriew, has been a farmer and factory worker his whole life. However, as his health deteriorated, he needed the Mamwlad caseworkers to step in.
The Mamwlad project is funded by Welsh Government, and delivered by Care & Repair in Powys and Age Cymru Powys. The two organisations offer slightly different services as part of the project.

Agreed works such as stair rails, grab rails and steps could be carried out by the Care & Repair in Powys’ own minor adaptations team and can also be funded by grants.
