About the role

Care & Repair Monmouthshire and Torfaen are recruiting new voluntary members to join our Board of Directors.

The Agency became independent on 1st April 2023 and recently achieved charitable status. We are now hoping to increase and widen the skill base of the Board. This is an exciting opportunity to take part in shaping the future of a charitable Agency.   

We are looking for highly motivated and experienced people to join our Board of Directors. 

The role is: 

  • To challenge and assist in moving the charity forward.
  • To support the Board and Chief Officer to form decisive and resilient plans. 

We have identified some specific skills and experience which we think would enhance the diversity of our Board even further. Those being: 

  • Experience of the charitable/third sector
  • Marketing
  • Fundraising/Sponsorship
  • IT/Digital

Experience of governance is not essential, as we are committed to providing a full and appropriate induction. 

We are keen to hear from any individual who has an interest in the older persons’, disabled or housing agenda and feel they can meet the specific criteria above and could thereby contribute to our rationale, resilience, and future success. 

This is an extremely rewarding role and an opportunity to gain valuable governance experience and make a real difference to people’s lives. The successful candidate will be joining a small and friendly Board with a highly supportive Chair who will be available to you whenever you need them.

The role will involve attending 4 evening meetings (6pm-8pm) per annum.
