About the role

We are seeking a highly organised, enthusiastic and a confident communicator, with a commitment and empathy to the housing needs of older people living in the community.

 

The post holder will work closely with housing, health and social care professionals as well as third sector organisations in order to support older people to remain living independent in their own homes.   This will include visiting older people in their own homes and helping to improve their home environment by providing a range of adaptations, repairs and home safety interventions that will help prevent the risk of falls and accidents in the home and improve their long term independence and well-being.

 

A key part of the role will also include providing advice and practical support in relation to accessing welfare benefits, housing grant-aid, heating grants and charitable funding as appropriate.  The post holder will also need to have a good knowledge of welfare benefits, older people’s rights and entitlements and will have worked within a housing related service or social care setting. Comprehensive training will be provided.

 

A full driving licence is essential and the post is subject to a DBS check paid for by the Agency.
