Introduction

In 2025/26, global events continued to drive market shocks, high energy prices and inflation, increasing cost-of-living pressures for our beneficiaries. As a result, demand for our services continued to increase, with outputs and outcomes delivered by Care & Repair again hitting record levels. During the year, we supported approximately 45,000 older people to live independently at home.

You can read many of the successes and outcomes from the year on this page or in the full Impact Report—simply click the green button below to access it.

As Chair and Chief Executive, we would like to say a huge thank you to the many organisations and individuals who contributed to our success in 2025/26. This includes Care & Repair Agencies, Welsh Government, Wales & West Utilities, local authorities, health boards, third sector partners, and all our funders.

Our Reports in 2025-26

Staff;Our Best Asset

A new report from Care & Repair Cymru offers a rare glimpse into the daily work of staff who help thousands of older and vulnerable people live safely and independently at home. Based on 52 in-depth interviews with staff from across Wales — including caseworkers, administrators, handypersons, and technical officers — the report captures the heart and soul of the organisation’s work. It reveals how trust, compassion, and teamwork underpin everything Care & Repair does.

Senedd Election Manifesto

We are calling for the Welsh Government to implement a Safety-Net Grant delivered by Care & Repair to rectify instances of hazardous disrepair. There is a significant policy and funding gap for serious and urgent housing repairs in Wales. Every day, Care & Repair see older people in the owner-occupied sector who cannot afford to get repair works done and where there are no funding solutions available. This leaves older people living in poor housing with a major detrimental impact on their health, well-being, and ability to live safely and independently at home.
